This weekend my husband and I decided to go Apple Picking. It’s on my fall bucket list to go pick apples at Robinettes, but they lost a lot of their crop from freezing earlier this spring. I decided to venture out to Moelker Orchard this year and go right on the first day they have U-Pick available. I love having fun seasonal traditions like this and hope to continue them for years to come.
You know those outfits where you think it looks good in the mirror, but then when you see yourself in pictures later you think, “what in the world was I thinking?” Yah, this is one of those outfits. I like wearing (afilliate link) Bean Boots with Camp Socks, but I don’t like the way my jeans look, and I love the JCrew Factory Shirt and Target Vest separately, but together it looks “meh”.
We had their apple cinnamon and pumpkin donuts and they were SO GOOD. They make them fresh everyday and you can really tell.
After we had our donut fix, we went on to pick the apples. I love the song by Doris Day “A Bushel and a Peck” because my Grandma used to sing it to my mom and now I hope to sing it to my kids someday. You could chose to pick a half bushel or a peck of apples which is what got that song stuck in my head and I don’t foresee it going away anytime soon.
I can’t wait to make all the apples into apple pie, freezer apple pie filling and apple butter to savor the rest of fall.
