I have dealt with oily skin since I can remember and I have found it difficult to find beauty bloggers that have oily skin. Most people I’ve talked to either deal with oily skin by not using moisturizer (horrible idea for your skin), or by not wearing makeup because it falls off so fast anyways. I believe there are some great products out there that don’t have to break the bank and really work with oily skin. I also suggest that you see a dermatologist if your insurance will allow because there are more powerful treatments a dermatologist can suggest to get your oily skin under control especially if your oily skin is also acne prone.
To start you need a good morning and evening skincare routine. Even a simple routine is better than nothing at all. I get super lazy with my skincare and do most of it in the morning before work. I start off my morning by using:
I have been loving this cleanser, but any clear gel cleanser will work well on oily skin.
I don’t know if this has helped with my oily skin specifically, but it has dramatically improved my acne.
This lotion makes sure I have all the moisture my skin needs but is incredibly lightweight. Lightweight and matte are everything my oily skin wants.
I am currently using up all the primers I have before I buy a new one, but this is the next one I will be buying! Primer is vital for keeping any kind of foundation on your face and will make it look smoother once applied.
Powder foundation is an oily-skin girl’s best friend. If you really want extra coverage, L’Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation is great, but regular liquid foundation might be too heavy for everyday summer looks.
This setting spray is amazing and will seriously make your makeup last so much longer than normal. My make-up will normally be coming off within 3 hours of application and with this spray, it lasts at least 9 hours, which is incredible.
Excluding other makeup (I always wear mascara and eyeliner) that is all I do every day for my skin. Throughout the day, I use Oil Absorbing Sheets or bathroom paper towel if I’m out to keep the oil down.
Using 1 makeup removing wipe is the extent of my evening skincare routine. I take my makeup off pretty much as soon as I walk in the door from work and put on more Clinique Dramatically Different Gel. Occasionally I will use a charcoal mask or micro-needle my skin but that’s more on a whim than something that is scheduled.
This isn’t exactly oily skin related, but I also wouldn’t get through the summer without Megababe products. I had never used a product for thigh chafe before because I didn’t think I had it, but now that I’ve used it, I will use it every day for the rest of my life. Megababe Thigh Rescue & Bust Dust are lifesavers that everyone should have.
